Georgia Christgau learned to write while on staff at America's Only Rock 'n Roll magazine, Creem in Detroit, Michigan, and was an editor at New York City's Village Voice newspaper. She teaches English in a public high school in Long Island City, Queens. For the past two years she has been a presenter in Seattle, Washington, at Experience Music Project's annual Pop Conference, where she has delivered papers about the late rock critic Ellen Willis and about a multicultural high school dance club.
